This is a soft, dreamy, ethereal figurative painting created from my imagination. Drawing on folklore, myth, legend and pre-raphaelite works, I was also inspired by my daughter. I wanted the onlooker to feel protected yet still ponder the fleeting nature of time. Kindness should abound and an appreciation of how fragile we can all be. 
 
This piece measures 1 metre tall x 30cm wide on a deep edged canvas and I used acrylic, paper collage, oil pastels and shreds of gold leaf to create the hazy surface texture I was after.
